A day in the life:
The Special Services Foreman is responsible for overseeing special cleaning services and supervising front-line personnel. This position ensures compliance with company and client standards, coordinates daily assignments, maintains inventory, and promotes safety and efficiency. The role requires hands-on leadership to uphold service excellence and contribute to client satisfaction.
What you’ll do as an Exceptional Team Member
- Provide day-to-day supervision of porters, matrons, and special services staff.
- Assign tasks based on job requirements, client requests, and operational priorities.
- Conduct routine quality inspections to ensure compliance with Harvard and client standards.
- Train new and existing staff on proper cleaning techniques and safety procedures.
- Ensure proper use and availability of safety equipment and personal protective gear.
- Order and distribute cleaning supplies, tools, and equipment as needed.
- Review and process work tickets, verifying task completion and accuracy.
- Perform general maintenance and upkeep of cleaning equipment.
- Manage and participate in general cleaning activities as required.
What you’ll need to be an Extraordinary Team Member
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in janitorial or commercial cleaning services.
- Prior supervisory experience preferred.
- Valid state driver’s license required.
- Proficiency in English (verbal and written communication skills).
- Ability to draft and complete basic business documentation.
- Strong leadership, time management, and problem-solving skills.
