JOB SUMMARY

Provides general clerical support to a specific nursing unit including receptionist duties; transcription and processing of physicians orders; and coordination of unit communications with other hospital departments. The Patient Care Clerk is the Secretary to the nursing staff. Promotes positive relations with nursing staff, managers, physicians, outside agencies and the public. This position practices the Service Excellence philosophy of Hamilton Healthcare Systems.
Qualifications
JOB QUALIFICATIONS

Education: High School graduate or certified equivalent.

Licensure: Certified Health Unit Coordinator is preferred but not required.

Experience: Unit Secretary, Medical Secretary or Nursing Assistant preferred.

Skills: PC Data Entry and medical terminology preferred
