Job Title: Finance Assistant

Contract: Full-Time, Permanent

Location: Remote

First Intuition is a fast-growing premier provider of accountancy training and apprenticeships. As part of our ongoing growth, we require a Finance Assistant to support our teams across the FI Group. This role offers a fantastic opportunity great long-term prospect for the right candidate.

Duties and responsibilities include:

• Ensure suppliers invoices are promptly processed in accordance with deadlines and company procedures in respect of authorisation.
• Process reimbursement requests.
• Verify and reconcile billing information, purchase orders, and payment details.
• Reconcile supplier statements and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
• Prepare payment runs and ensure adherence to company policies.
• Bank reconciliations.
• Maintain accurate records and support audit requirements.
• Respond to supplier queries, manage accounts inbox.
• Raise revenue invoices and credits on an adhoc basis
• Assist with ad-hoc tasks within the accounting & finance department as needed.
• Collaborate with all stakeholders to ensure smooth month-end processes.
• Contributing to continuous improvement of purchase-to-pay processes and controls

Qualifications and skills – Essential

• Experience working in a finance setting. In particular Accounts Payable.
• Good Excel skills – vlookups and pivot tables
• Proactive, organised, good communicator with ability to liaise with people of all levels
• Ability to improve processes, with a focus on efficiency and clarity
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.

Qualifications and skills – Desirable

• Experience of similar role within an SME
• Prior knowledge of Xero an advantage
