JOB PURPOSE:
The Precast Yard Safety Lead is responsible for overseeing all safety operations within the precast yard. This role ensures compliance with OSHA regulations and company safety policies, conducts daily safety inspections, provides safety training, and promotes a culture of safety throughout the yard.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Conduct daily yard rounds to identify and mitigate safety hazards.
- Develop, implement, and update safety programs and protocols.
- Lead safety training sessions and toolbox talks for all yard personnel.
- Investigate and report incidents, near-misses, and accidents.
- Collaborate with supervisors and management to enforce safety policies.
- Ensure proper use of PPE and safe operation of yard equipment.
- Maintain accurate records of safety inspections and compliance activities.
- Work closely with the corporate Safety Manager.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Proven experience in safety management, preferably in precast concrete, construction, or manufacturing environments.
- Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and workplace safety standards.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
- Ability to identify hazards and implement corrective measures.
- Strong organizational and record-keeping skills.
PREFERRED:
- Safety certifications such as OSHA 30, CSP, or CHST.
- Experience in quality control and yard operations.
