The Founding Product Engineer role involves shaping the core of the energy procurement platform and taking ownership of the full product lifecycle—from design to deployment—as an early employee. The role requires translating product objectives into customer-driven requirements, designing simple, iterative solutions, and building performant backend services for a data-intensive application, as well as intuitive user interfaces for a complex decision-support system; it also includes training time-series forecasting models for power consumption and renewables production. It further entails developing linear optimization algorithms that help save millions in energy costs for customers, while contributing to a growing tech stack (PostgreSQL, TypeScript, React, Python) with a technology-agnostic mindset focused on problem solving. The candidate will work closely with the founding team—Jaakko, Tim, Alex, Franz, and Angelo—across Engineering, Product, and Revenue to define problems, scope solutions, and deliver scalable customer value in Munich, on a full-time basis, with a preference for in-person collaboration in the Munich office (Hbf) but flexible hours and locations. This role offers ownership from day one, a competitive compensation package with stock options, and a culture of open feedback and continuous learning.
