Zwicker is presently seeking an Associate Attorney to join our team. We are seeking a candidate with an eagerness to learn, as well as exemplary organizational, written, and verbal communication skills, to join our team. The base salary range for this position is $110,000-$140,000 per year, plus applicable bonus.


Responsibilities of Associate Attorneys include

  • Communicate effectively and appropriately with team members and outside parties
  • Draft, review, and file legal pleadings, motions, discovery, etc., in furtherance of active litigation files
  • Review litigation case files and pleadings to determine appropriate action
  • Advocate on behalf of the client’s interests at various litigation settings
  • Utilize internal proprietary software to properly update and document the status of each account in the assigned inventory
  • Analyze and process litigation inventory reports and litigation files, as assigned by Managing Attorney, to ensure that proper litigation workflow is being performed pursuant to the firm and client expectations
  • Comply with all client and firm standard operating procedures
  • Ability to travel to various courtrooms within the branch office footprint as required
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Admitted to practice law and in good standing in California
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Office suite, including Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Highly motivated self-starter
  • Eagerness to learn
  • Ability to manage and prioritize a large caseload
  • Be able to communicate in a common language with (or to) individuals or groups verbally and/or in writing
  • Be able to operate a computer, phone, or equivalent device
  • Be able to complete a minimum of a 40-hour flexible workweek schedule
  • Be able to read and comprehend position-specific documents and correspondence

Preferred Qualifications

  • Minimum of one year of litigation/trial experience
  • Working knowledge of civil procedure
  • Debt collection experience
  • Prior experience in a high-volume environment

Physical Qualifications

  • Be able to lift five pounds or greater
  • Be able to sit 90% of the workday at times
  • Be able to bend at the waist and be mobile when needed
  • Be able to concentrate and use critical thinking
