Job Summary

The Senior Director of Service Operations is responsible for the strategic planning and direction of operations management, safety, materials, logistics, distribution, quality, service, engineering and training organizations of the US and Global locations within Service Operations. This position is also directly accountable for the US Service revenue attainment.

Essential Functions

  • Has leadership accountability for the performance of global Service operations, optimizing service levels, asset utilization, total costs, and business risk.
  • Conducts strategic planning, development, and execution of U.S. and International Service operations initiatives to meet business objectives.
  • Understands and stays current on the appropriate legal and regulatory boundaries in the areas of Service operations, environmental, international MDR requirements, trade and transportation regulations and establish processes and controls to ensure compliance.
  • Builds and improves key business relationships within and outside the organization, including the cross functional management of network inventory and the performance oversight of 3rd party international organizations utilized to service devices and fulfill orders.
  • Demonstrates continuous effort to improve operations, decrease production costs, minimize inventory and work in process, streamline work processes and work cooperatively and jointly with other ZOLL departments. Accountable for creating a safety culture, implementing standards, improving ergonomics, escalating events, and promoting hazard identification and problem solving at the production team level.
  • Leads Service Operations sustainability efforts, developing metrics and setting objectives, including educating stakeholders, identifying opportunities for recycling/reuse & energy reduction, creating forward looking plans based on country specific needs, and creating roadmap in alignment with corporate sustainability initiatives.
  • Achieves operational and financial objectives by establishing strategic plans and annual operating budgets, conducting reviews of performance, preparing and completing action plans, managing employee performance, defining requirements, resolving problems, conducting audits, identifying trends, determining system improvements, and implementing changes.
  • Accomplishes human resource objectives by recruiting, selecting, orienting, training, developing, coaching, and disciplining employees; communicating job expectations, planning, monitoring, appraising, and reviewing job contributions; and planning and reviewing compensation actions.
  • Improves job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications, and/or participating in professional organizations.


Required/Preferred Education and Experience

  • Degree in Engineering, Business, or Supply Chain; MBA a strong plus.
  • Over 15 years of relevant business experience, including significant strategy development and project management, plus at least 7 years of management/leadership experience with a proven record of achievement.

The annual salary for this position is:

$182,000.00 to $237,000.00
