SUMMARY DESCRIPTION:

The Senior Manager, Platform & Engineering Operations is a hands-on engineering delivery leader responsible for directly driving execution, operational excellence, and platform reliability across Zing Health’s enterprise application and integration ecosystem. 

This role is accountable for day-to-day engineering delivery, not just oversight. The individual actively engages in delivery planning, solution design reviews, sprint execution, release readiness, and production operations to ensure engineering initiatives are delivered on time, at high quality, and in alignment with enterprise architecture standards. 

The role leads and coordinates onshore and offshore engineering teams, owns SDLC and release discipline, and works hands-on with DevOps, Architecture, and Platform teams to modernize and operate critical systems including APIs, Member Portal, Mobile Applications, Website, EDI workflows, and cloud-based microservices. 

This position requires a leader who is comfortable rolling up their sleeves—reviewing designs, unblocking teams, resolving delivery issues, and leading incident response—while also establishing repeatable, well-governed engineering practices that scale. 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Hands-On Engineering Delivery

• Directly lead engineering execution across initiatives, ensuring predictable delivery and quality outcomes. 
• Actively participate in sprint planning, prioritization, standups, and delivery reviews. 
• Unblock teams, resolve dependencies, and drive accountability across onshore and offshore resources. 
• Track delivery metrics and take corrective action to improve throughput and predictability. 

Architecture & Technical Leadership

• Review and guide solution designs to ensure scalability, security, performance, and architectural alignment. 
• Partner with Enterprise Architecture to translate standards into executable engineering patterns. 
• Provide hands-on technical guidance during implementation, not just design review. 
• Support modernization initiatives across APIs, integrations, and cloud-native platforms. 

SDLC, Release & Production Operations

• Enforce practical SDLC discipline, engineering standards, and quality gates. 
• Own release planning, deployment readiness, and go/no-go decisions. 
• Lead production incident response, root cause analysis, and remediation. 
• Work closely with DevOps to improve CI/CD pipelines, automation, monitoring, and reliability. 

Platform & Integration Operations

• Own the operational health of enterprise platforms including APIs, microservices, portals, mobile apps, and EDI pipelines (278/837/835/270/271). 
• Manage escalations and coordinate cross-functional troubleshooting with internal teams and vendors. 
• Ensure integrations are reliable, monitored, and compliant with architectural standards. 

Requirements

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

• 10+ years of overall technical experience, with at least 3 years in hands-on engineering delivery leadership roles managing complex platforms or multi-team initiatives.  
• Strong knowledge of SDLC, CI/CD, and cloud-native engineering (Azure preferred). 
• Deep experience with APIs, microservices, and integration patterns. 
• Proven ability to drive delivery accountability across onshore/offshore teams. 
• Experience with release management and production operations for enterprise systems. 

Preferred Experience

• Healthcare IT (Medicare Advantage, CMS, EDI). 
• Azure Functions, APIM, event-driven architectures. 
• Experience operating within enterprise architecture and governance frameworks.
