Job Description

About the team: The Senior Controls Engineer leads the development, optimization, and support of manufacturing processes to ensure efficient, cost-effective, and high-quality production. This role involves hands-on problem-solving, mentoring junior staff, and collaborating across departments to drive continuous improvement.

 

What you can look forward to as a Senior Controls Engineer:

  • Design, implement, and improve manufacturing processes.
  • Identify cost and process improvements to reduce cost, increase OEE, and labor reduction opportunities.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to engineers, engineering interns, and technicians.
  • Lead troubleshooting efforts on the manufacturing floor, interface with design, quality, and production teams.
  • Own manufacturing projects, new launch activities, and team events from concept to completion.
  • Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
  • Determine process standards, detailed specifications, and associated documentation for quoting of new equipment.
  • Collaboration with customers, corporate functional teams, and internal teams for new programs or change management projects.

 

Your profile as a Senior Controls Engineer:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering plus 5 years of experience in related field preferred or minimum 10 years equivalent work experience.
  • Experience in manufacturing techonologies including machining, assembly, machine controls, and robotics
  • CAD capable.
  • Print reading/interpretation including GD&T.
  • 2 years of project management.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills required to effectively present information, write reports and process instructions, and provide support to various functional groups.
