Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Mainframe Technical Lead to analyze, design and solution building for enterprise-level applications on IBM Mainframe systems. The ideal candidate should possess expertise in COBOL, JCL, DB2, and CICS along with a solid understanding of batch and online processing and problem-solving skills.

Key Responsibilities

· Analyze, design, develop, document and solutioning of mainframe applications using COBOL, JCL, DB2, and CICS

 Perform requirement analysis, design, and code enhancements.

· Analysis of mainframe applications, conducting impact assessments, and translating technical findings into business rules.

· Collaborate with business analysts and stakeholders to gather requirements.

· Participate in migration exercises.

· Provide technical documentation and support for audits.

· Ability to quickly learn new technologies and mentor team members, while driving process improvements and initiating automation using modern tools and emerging technologies.

Required Skills

· COBOL, JCL, DB2, CICS, IMS DB and SQL.

· Tools: Endevor, Topaz, Control-M or scheduler exposure.

· Utilities: SORT, IDCAMS, ISPF.

· Analysis of mainframe applications, conducting impact assessments, and translating technical findings into business rules and process flow diagrams.

· Strong debugging and problem-solving skills.

· Knowledge of SDLC and Agile methodologies.

Additional Skills

· REXX automation.

· Familiarity with Mainframe migration/modernization.

· Exposure API integration and microservices concepts.

· Integrating with IBM MQ or IBM DataPower.

Education

· Bachelor’s degree.

Soft Skills

· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

· Ability to work independently and in a team environment.

· Strong analytical and decision-making skills.
