Senior Dynamics 365 CE Technical Architect
The opportunity
We’re looking for a Senior Dynamics 365 Customer Engagement (CE) Technical Architect to lead complex, enterprise-scale implementations across Sales, Customer Service, Field Service and omnichannel capabilities. You’ll shape the technical vision, own end-to-end solution architecture, and guide cross-functional teams to deliver secure, scalable, and supportable platforms on Dynamics 365 and Power Platform.
What you’ll do
- Own solution architecture: Define target architectures spanning Dataverse, Dynamics 365 CE apps, Power Platform, integration, identity, security and ALM. Produce HLD/LLD, non-functional requirements, and reference architectures.
- Lead delivery: Provide technical direction to engineers, functional consultants and partners; design reviews, sprint ceremonies and quality gates; unblock delivery risks.
- Integration & data: Design and oversee integrations (e.g., Azure Functions, Logic Apps, Service Bus, APIs) and data strategies (migration, Synapse Link, reporting patterns, data quality).
- Custom development: Set standards for C# plug-ins, custom workflow activities, JavaScript/TypeScript, PCF controls, Power Fx, Power Pages, and solution layering.
- Security & compliance: Define and implement security models, environment strategy, DLP, auditing, and GDPR-aligned data governance.
- Performance & reliability: Model non-functionals, run performance testing, and tune environments for scale, resilience and cost efficiency.
- DevOps & ALM: Establish branching, pipelines and releases using Azure DevOps/Git and Power Platform Pipelines; champion automated testing and IaC where appropriate.
- Stakeholder leadership: Translate business strategy into technical roadmaps; run architecture workshops; support pre-sales, estimations and proposal artefacts.
- Standards & reuse: Curate a CoE approach, coding standards, solution accelerators and reusable components; mentor engineers and promote best practice.
- Lifecycle ownership: Guide hypercare, knowledge transfer, support handover and continuous improvement.
What you’ll bring (essential)
- Significant experience (typically 8+ years) delivering Dynamics 365 CE/CRM solutions, including at least 3+ programmes as the lead/primary technical architect.
- Deep knowledge of Dataverse, solution architecture and extensibility, including solution layering, environment topology, and ALM best practice.
- Hands-on expertise across Sales, Customer Service (incl. Omnichannel/Digital Contact Centre), and Field Service; strong command of Power Platform (Power Apps model-driven/canvas, Power Automate, Power Pages).
- Integration architecture experience using Azure services (APIM, Logic Apps, Functions, Service Bus, Event Grid) and RESTful APIs.
- Proficiency with C# plug-ins, JavaScript/TypeScript, PCF, web resources, and modern client-side patterns.
- Strong grounding in security, identity and governance (AAD Entra ID, RBAC/teams, DLP, least-privilege design, audit & monitoring).
- Track record establishing DevOps/ALM with Azure DevOps/Git, solution versioning, automated builds/deployments, and test automation.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence senior stakeholders and simplify complex concepts.
- Experience in data migration (ETL tooling, staging patterns), non-functional design (scalability, availability, performance), and documentation.
Nice to have
- Experience with Customer Insights (Data & Journeys), Copilot/AI features in Dynamics 365 and Power Platform, and responsible AI guardrails.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Fabric or advanced analytics/reporting patterns; Synapse/Dataverse Link.
- Background in contact centre platforms (e.g., voice, chat, bots) and event-driven architectures.
- Sector experience in regulated environments (e.g., financial services, public sector).
- Leadership of near-/offshore delivery teams and partner ecosystems.
