About the Role

As a Financial Analyst – Capital Markets at Zekelman Industries, you will support financing pursuits for Z Modular real estate developments by assisting with financial analysis, lender materials, and cross-functional coordination. This role plays a key part in ensuring financing and equity raise processes move efficiently from initial underwriting through closing and post-closing activities.

You will collaborate closely with internal development teams, lenders, consultants, property managers, and appraisers to compile accurate financial and due-diligence materials. This is a full-time, hybrid role (3 days in office) located at our Chicago HQ.

This role is ideal for someone early in their finance career who is detail-oriented, organized, and interested in real estate development and project finance.

What You’ll Do

  • Collates information packages and assists with preparing submissions for construction financing, including gathering rent surveys, development budgets, zoning and entitlement status, appraisals, and site materials.

  • Coordinates information flow between internal Z Modular teams and third parties such as lenders, consultants, property managers, and appraisers.

  • Performs research on real estate market developments, rent trends, etc.

  • Performs basic modeling.

  • Reviews and analyzes rent rolls, operating statements, and other financial metrics; prepares variance analysis against budget projections and industry standards.

  • Assists with loan closings under the guidance of senior team members to ensure timely and accurate execution.

  • Assembles monthly loan draw packages; and responds to lender inquiries to facilitate funding.

  • Performs various testing and analyses on measurement dates per loan requirements – e.g., debt yield & DSCR.

  • Prepares documentation to support post-closing debt compliance and reporting requirements to ensure compliance.

  • Performs research and additional duties as assigned to support financing and development activities.

  • Leads and promotes healthy and safe work practices in accordance with regulatory requirements and Company policy.

Who You Are

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance or a related field.

  • Less than one year of experience in real estate, finance, banking, or a related field.

  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office (specifically, Excel) and the ability to quickly learn Yardi or other company systems.

  • Basic modeling skills.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work across multiple stakeholders.

  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities accurately.

Below is the expected base salary range for this position. This is a good-faith estimate, and offers will be determined based on experience, education, skill set, and interview performance.

Base Salary Range: $60,000 - $73,000 USD

Additional compensation may include:
