What’s the role?
The Field Service Engineer is responsible for the installation, preventive maintenance, and ongoing support of advanced semiconductor manufacturing systems used to generate photomask aerial images (AIMS) utilizing the latest EUV wavelength technology.
This is a field-based role located in Santa Clara, CA, supporting a dedicated local semiconductor manufacturing customer. The role requires hands-on technical expertise, strong troubleshooting skills, and close collaboration with the customer to ensure optimal system performance and uptime.

Here’s what you’ll do:
Troubleshoot complex optical mask making equipment.
Ability to make and oversee technically complicated equipment repairs.
Ability to maintain and replace advanced EUV light source systems and perform optical alignment of equipment is required.
Maintain systems to achieve the contractually obligated equipment uptime performance.
Schedule and perform all recommended Preventative Maintenance activities.
Actively participate in meetings with ZEISS and customer teams.
Communication of repair/service strategies including risk mitigation analysis and schedule
Report all system actions/events and daily activities in field service reports.
Communicate system and site issues to factory level support and follow-up to achieve resolution of customer’s open issues.
Close teamwork and communication with customer including excellent customer relationships.
Do you qualify?
Technical degree required (Bachelor’s in Engineering or Science); or 10+ years of relevant hands-on experience as a substitute
Preferred fields: optics, automation, or vacuum technology
Prior experience as a field-based Service Engineer, ideally within the semiconductor industry, supporting complex optical and/or vacuum equipment
Working knowledge of FAB cleanroom protocols
Preferred: experience with mask making equipment

Compensation
The annual pay range for this position is $104,000 – $130,000
