Perform optical simulations of devices for eye care using optical simulations in Ansys/Zemax (Optic Studio)
Interact with a modern (object oriented) python framework to automate simulations as well as investigations and visualizations
Analyze the influence of different optical settings on Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT) tomogram images
Quantify medical image tomograms and relate their variation to influnce of diagnostic quantifications
Conduct data analysis and image reconstruction using Python
Prepare technical reports and presentations of simulation results
Collaborate with optical engineers and researchers on OCT-related projects
Assist the team with ad-hoc optical simulations and analyses
Currently studying Physics, Optical Engineering, Photonics, Biomedical engineering, or a similar field
Strong knowledge of optics (beyond basics) including geometrical and physical optics
Experience with optical simulation software, particularly Ansys/Zemax (OpticStudio)
Proficiency in Python for data analysis and visualization
Independent, structured, detail-oriented, and analytical working style
Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret optical simulation data
Team player with excellent communication skills
Very good English language skills (verbal and written); German is a plus
Willing to work on the topic for 6 months (being enrolled for that time is mandatory)
