The Head of Product Management REF (Refractive) Devices at BS REF/corneal refractive is responsible for translating customer and market needs into concepts, architecture, and REF product strategy for the device product group with a focus on our laser systems.
Your Role
You will manage a team of product managers responsible for individual products within the product group
Your team supports functions and external partners independently, taking comprehensive responsibility for man-aging interfaces and stakeholders within scope of the product group as well as actively driving the overall REF product roadmap
You derive product requirements with your team, initiate product development projects according to the ZEISS process landscape
You will work with the project teams across the product lifecycle
You will participate in global market launch activities and ensure successful market performance of the product/solution within the corneal refractive workflow strategy
The position requires highly specialized, deep knowledge in the fields of both technical/natural sciences and business sciences
Bachelor or Master’s degree in optometry, natural sciences or medicine and / or: Master’s degree in industrial engineering with business studies, Master’s degree in business sciences plus work experience in medical technology
Extensive years of experience in product management in the field of medical technology or related, with a proven track record of managing all aspects of a successful product throughout its lifecycle
Several years of experience in a leadership role, managing cross-functional teams and driving product strategy
Experience in leading product teams in a fast-paced, agile environment
Demonstrated success in launching and scaling products in competitive markets
Deep understanding of product development processes in a medical and regulated environment, including agile methodologies
Excellent communication skills to articulate product vision and strategy to stakeholders at all levels
Ability to develop and manage product roadmaps, aligning them with business goals and customer needs
Strong leadership and mentoring skills to develop and grow a high-performing product management team
Exceptional problem-solving abilities and strategic thinking.
Ability to work collaboratively across departments, including engineering, marketing, sales, and customer support
Proven ability to manage budgeting and forecasting for product initiatives.
Business fluent language skills in English are mandatory
