Assignment Length: Temporary assignment of approximately 16 weeks (February-May 2026), dependent on staffing needs

Position Summary:
This role contributes to a safe, inclusive, and healing-centered environment where individuals and families can build on their strengths, increase stability, and pursue long-term wellbeing. The position supports program goals aligned with YWCA Utah’s strategic direction and commitment to healing, safety, and community resilience. The position is a temporary Assistant Teacher, working to cover lunch breaks and planning times in all classrooms ages 6 months to 5 years old, which parental leave coverage for approximately 16 weeks, from February to May 22, 2026. The Assistant Teacher assists in planning and implementing educational and play-based childcare to ensure the health, safety, and enrichment of children from birth through age five. Based on program needs and performance, this position has the potential to transition into a permanent role.

Physical/Sensory Demands
Work is generally performed in a safe office environment. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to: sit for long periods of time; use computer to enter data; use telephone to converse with customers and employees; walk and stand for long periods of time; perform repetitive wrist, hand and/or finger movement. Travel to attend conferences, training, outreach and other events occurs routinely.
