CENTER ASSISTANT
PART-TIME- morning hours, 8am to 12noon
RATE: $17.91 per hour
Summary: Responsible for providing administrative support to the Head Start Center Services Director, HS Family Support Workers, Education/Curriculum Specialists, Health Coordinator, and Disabilities Coordinator by the assigned functional area and department by performing the following duties.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Provides office coverage, answers phone, performs research, types memos and correspondence as necessary
Greets all visitors in a courteous manner and follows high standards of customer service.
Ensures teachers enter children's attendance into ChildPlus.
Ensures teachers and center staff are enrolled in time clock.
Checks Learning Genie daily to ensure parents are signing children in and out properly
Maintains paperwork, data, and ChildPlus data information.
Orders and maintains supplies and food, and ensures all items are received in a timely fashion.
Performs general data entry as directed by the Center Svcs Director
Prepares weekly attendance or related documentation, as directed by the Center Svcs Director .
Tracks and inputs child absences (due to illness, tardiness, or doctor appointments) into ChildPlus and notifies the Center Svcs Director and Family Services Support Worker (FSW).
Makes copies and laminates materials for parents, teachers, Center Svcs Director, and curriculum specialists.
Assists in the process of VPK subsidy reimbursement packages, creates sign-in/out sheets and VPK long forms for classroom use
Records daily meal counts for the monthly menu.
Assists Director with the Federal Food reimbursement.
Assists Classroom Teachers and Assistant Teachers, as needed
Provides lunch and bathroom break coverage for teachers, as needed.
Organizes and maintains individual site files.
Generates and submits the agency WAVE Report every Friday
Enters enrollment and/or client health forms.
Assists with fire drills
Keeps the Center Svcs Director informed of any significant events during his/her absence.
Performs clerical tasks, such as filing, data entry, copying, and record keeping, as needed
Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
High School diploma or GED required; some college preferred; one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. DCF 45 hour childcare training certification strongly preferred; CPR/First Aid Certification requiredc, Certificate of good health & Tine Testrequired at hire, level 2 clearance, drug test clearance
