About this role

Position: Seasonal Tax Professional (Part-Time, Independent Contractor)
Location: Remote (U.S.-based)

Your Money Line is seeking an experienced, detail-oriented, and empathetic tax-focused financial professional to support participants with basic to moderate tax-related questions. This is a part-time contractor role with flexible hours. It's a good fit for professionals who are energized by meaningful work, enjoy supporting individuals, and can incorporate basic tax education into broader financial wellness conversations.

Engagement Structure

  • Type: Independent Contractor (1099)
  • Hours: Part-time, as-needed. Anticipated 5–10 hours/week to start. No guaranteed minimum hours.
  • Availability: Must respond to assignments within one (1) business day
  • Compensation: $40/hour (negotiable based on qualifications)
  • Contract Completion: April 15th, 2026

Scope of Work

Provide direct, licensed tax advice to participants on complex topics, including:

  • Tax implications of income changes, life transitions (e.g. marriage, divorce, relocation), and equity compensation
  • Multi-state taxation, self-employment income, estimated payments, and amended returns
  • Filing status decisions, deductions/credits eligibility, and retirement contribution impacts
  • Collaborate with the Financial Guide team by handling escalated cases that exceed coaching and education scope
  • Educate participants using clear, jargon-free explanations of IRS guidelines and implications
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation within Salesforce and align with internal case protocols
  • Support seasonal participant needs during tax season and contribute to internal tax education efforts
  • Assist in the development of participant-facing tax resources, FAQs, and training

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of professional experience in tax preparation, planning, or education
  • Current CPA, EA, or active PTIN required
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to explain tax topics in accessible, jargon-free language
  • Demonstrated understanding of financial wellness and behavioral finance principles
  • Comfort with digital tools and documentation (e.g., Salesforce, email follow-up templates)
  • Experience in both working independently and within collaborative teams
  • Bonus: AFC®, CFP®, or experience in a financial wellness or coaching environment

Professional Requirements

  • Must carry professional liability insurance
  • Must comply with IRS requirements to maintain licensure
  • Responsible for own tax filings and business setup as a 1099 contractor
