About this role

We are seeking a highly organised and proactive Workday Support Team Lead to join our HR Operations function. This role will lead a team of four Workday Support Specialists (1st line support) and act as the key point of escalation for complex Workday queries and initiatives.

Reporting to our Head of HR Shared Service & HR Data based in London, the Workday Support Team Lead will coordinate and triage colleague Workday requests, manage priorities across BAU and project work, and ensure seamless collaboration between HR Operations, our Workday Architect colleagues & wider business

Key Responsibilities:

  • Team Leadership & Coordination

  • Lead and mentor a team of four Workday Support Specialists, ensuring high-quality and timely resolution of 1st line queries.

  • Act as the primary escalation point for complex Workday issues.

  • Monitor team performance and provide coaching to drive continuous improvement.

  • Workday Request Management

  • Oversee the triage and prioritization of Workday-related requests and projects.

  • Ensure effective allocation of tasks within the team to meet SLAs and business needs.

  • Project & Stakeholder Management

  • Partner with Workday Architects to interpret business requirements and translate them into actionable Workday solutions.

  • Support project planning and execution for Workday enhancements and new initiatives.

  • Communicate progress and risks to the Head of HR Shared Service & HR Data and other stakeholders.

  • Process Improvement & Governance

  • Identify opportunities to streamline Workday support processes, improve user experience and work with global HR Shared Services Leads to continuously review and improve current processes.

  • Ensure compliance with data governance and HR policies within Workday operations.

Required Qualifications:

  • Education & Certifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business Administration, IT, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Workday certification in one or more modules (e.g., HCM, Absence, Recruiting) is highly desirable.
  • Experience
  • Proven experience in Workday HCM support, ideally in a leadership or senior specialist role.
  • Strong understanding of HR processes and Workday functionality.
  • Experience managing or mentoring a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to interpret business requirements and translate them into system actions.
  • Familiarity with project management principles and tools.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and deliver under pressure.

This is a full time, permanent position with hybrid working position (x2 days in the office, x3 homeworking)
