Job DetailsJob Location: Colorado Springs, CO 80920Position Type: Part TimeSalary Range: $20.00 - $28.00 HourlyThe YMCA of the Pikes Peak region is seeking an enthusiastic Group Exercise Instructors to teach Les Mills Body Pump class. This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit, charitable organization committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. The Group Exercise Instructor will conduct general fitness classes including but not limited to: Zumba, Les Mills, Pilates, Yoga, Nia, Bootcamp, HIIT Formats, Spinning, Barre, Silver Sneakers, Tai Chi and Dance with an emphasis on health and well-being to participants of all ages. You will maintain constant supervision of students to ensure safety. The Group Exercise Instructor will create positive, nurturing and cooperative relationships with students. You will also facilitate peer-to-peer connections as part of the overall program experience.

Lead fitness classes following YMCA Instructor Guidelines, Protocols, and Visions of Excellence
Record and maintain attendance records
Set up facility or equipment, store equipment, and secure facility upon completion of class
Prepare progressive exercise plans
Secure qualified substitute instructor when needed
Report injuries and complete required forms
Support and follow YMCA policies and decisions and answer member questions about the YMCA and its programs and fitness related questions
Attend staff meetings
Provide music that meets YMCA standards

Qualifications
Must be 18 years of age or older
Current group exercise certification: ACE Group Fitness Instructor, AFAA Group Fitness Instructor certification, NETA Group Exercise certification, ACSM Group Exercise certification, Zumba, Les Mills, Piloxing, Barre, AFAA Kickboxing, Balletone, any SilverSneakers certification, Tai Chi, TurboKick, and Dance.
Current yoga certification (if teaching yoga): CorePower, Kripalu, NETA, Shambhava School of Yoga, YogaFit or Yoga Point (Vidya Gurukul), or any certification recognized by the Yoga Alliance
Current Nia certification (if teaching Nia)
Current YMCA Group Cycling Instructor certification OR Keiser, Schwinn, Spinning, Real Ryder or RPM Indoor Cycling certification (if teaching indoor cycling)
Completion of YUSA online courses within 30 days of hire (Orientation to Healthy Living at the Y, Foundations of Listen First, Principles of Member Health & Wellness, and Group Exercise at the Y)
General knowledge of fitness principles and training adaptations including basic anatomy and physiology
