YMCA of Southwestern Ontario was founded in 1856 and has over 200 locations from Goderich to Point Pelee, and Windsor to Woodstock. We are one of the largest not-for-profit providers of licensed child care in Canada and have over 100 school age programs across our regions. We also offer settlement services to newcomers, employment programs, mental health support, and youth programs. YMCA of Southwestern Ontario operates two overnight camps, one in Point Pelee National Park, and one on Beausoleil Island in Muskoka. We also have 15 Health & Fitness branches across Southwestern Ontario.

Employees and volunteers of YMCA of Southwestern Ontario are ambassadors for the Y both on and off the job. Position: Waterfront Director

Location: Fanshawe Conservation Area (FCA) - Lakeview Pavilion, 2609 Fanshawe Park Rd E, London, ON

Start Date: June 1 2026 - Training in June TBD. Camp starts June 28 2026

End Date: Sept 4 2026 - Camp ends Aug 28. Camp clean up week Aug 31

Salary: $19.05 / hour

In this role, you will:

• Provide Leadership and Support to Waterfront programs
• Schedule and coordinate weekly waterfront programs, areas and equipment
• Ensure Waterfront Emergency preparedness
• Contribute to the success of the YMCA day camp
• Contribute and support initiatives and goals of the YMCA
• Works as part of the Leadership team to provide leadership to counsellors and boating staff in all areas of program delivery, and to plan and deliver camp wide activities and special events

Education & Skills Qualifications:

• Minimum of 18 years old prior to start of camp program
• Experience in day or residential camp programming
• Experience in canoeing, kayaking and/or sailing
• Current Standard First Aid and CPR
• Current Lifesaving Society NLS certification
• Pleasure Craft Operators Card
• Clear Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Screening as per current YMCA HR policy
• Participation in YMCA Healthy Child Development (training provided)
