YMCA of Southwestern Ontario operates one overnight camp on Beausoleil Island in Muskoka. We also have 15 Health & Fitness branches across Southwestern Ontario.

Employees and volunteers of YMCA of Southwestern Ontario are ambassadors for the Y both on and off the job. Position:  Assistant Director 

Location: Startech.com YMCA and Community Centre, 501 Southdale Rd W, London ON.

Start Date: June 2026

Salary: $19.05/ hour

In this role, you will:

  • Responsible for providing leadership to the daily operations of the day camp site
  • Lead and support all other staff on site through leadership and previous knowledge 
  • Ensure safety and satisfaction goals are being met
  • Responsible for camper safety and enjoyment, managing a staff team, solving problems and providing excellent customer service
  • Full and active participation in all camp activities 
  • Lead in weekly staff meetings 
  • Support in One to One Counsellor weekly camper calls
  • Support the Site Director as needed in daily operational tasks

 

 What you need to succeed:

  • Experience working with children in a Day Camp Setting
  • Current Emergency First Aid or higher
  • Clear Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Screening as per cure
  • A dedication to demonstrate the YMCA core values.
