Overview

The Custodian provides general custodial work. This position is responsible for maintaining and providing routine scheduled cleaning as well as quality cleaning in and outdoors.

Schedule

• Part Time (2-3 days a week + weekends are required)
• Position is flexible weekdays, nights, and weekends 
• Location: Jackie Robinson YMCA

Responsibilities

• Perform all scheduled janitorial tasks throughout all buildings
• Perform detailed janitorial tasks during closing hours one evening per month
• Ensure all restroom dispensers are adequately stocked at all times
• Perform daily trash pick-up throughout the facility
• Provide courteous and helpful service to guests at all times
• Visual and auditory ability to respond to critical incidents and the physical ability to act swiftly in an emergency
• Physical ability to lift a minimum of 25 lbs.
• Other duties as assigned 

Qualifications

• Knowledge of building repairs such as painting wall patching, striping, and buffing floors and minor plumbing repairs
• Must be able to stand for long periods of time and drive a small utility cart
• Licensing, state law and our government funders require that staff within YMCA of San Diego County be fingerprinted, prior to reporting to work, and include subsequent arrest notifications
• CPR/AED, and First Aid Certification, must include Adult and Child/Infant, obtained within 30 days of hire and must be from one of the following certifying organizations:o American Red Crosso American Heart Associationo American Safety & Health Institute
