The YMCA of Metropolitan Detroit is a non-profit organization dedicated to strengthening the foundation of community through youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility. Imagine going to work knowing that what you do each day positively affects the lives of the people in your community. Working at the Y, you’ll discover more than just a job—you’ll enjoy a career with the chance to make a lasting difference in the lives of those around you.
Under the supervision of the Senior Program Director and support of the Executive Director, the Youth Development Program Case Manager is to ensure participant files are maintained and the information required in the OSMIS/WIOA database is up to date and aligns with participant files and contract requirements. The Program Case manager is responsible for making sure the program participants are meeting their goals, accessing the 14 elements and engaging in activities that will lead to participants positively exiting the program. In addition, the Program Case Manager supports the YMCA’s Teen Achievers programming initiative by serving as a lead or co-facilitator at middle/high school Achievers at our in-school sites, after school, evening and some Saturday workshops. Teen Achievers is a high school completion program designed under 5 core pillars: Academics, College Knowledge, Positive Relationships, Life Skills and Positive Identity. The ultimate outcome is to connect each young person with resources that lead each young adult to graduate high school, pursue post-secondary education, armed services and/or vocational training/skilled trades—resulting in the young person attending college and/or attaining viable employment and positively contributing to the community. Responsibilities will also include some program administrator duties.
