Job DetailsLevel: EntryJob Location: Excel Academy (Arvada) - Arvada, CT 80005Position Type: Part TimeSalary Range: $19.29 - $19.29 HourlyJob Shift: MorningsTIMES & DAYS - Hours available Monday - Friday mornings from 6:20am - 8:15am  POSITION SUMMARY At the direction of Supervisor OST, the Aide OST will assist in the delivery of the program to include curriculum development, behavior management, participant safety and evaluation. The Aide will deliver world-class customer service and relationship building skills to create a welcoming environment at the YMCA. The incumbent will also exhibit the core values of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility in all aspects of their work with the YMCA.   THE YMCA AS THE THIRD PLACE To be the welcoming and transformative place - beyond work and home - where people feel most able to be their true selves; explore their purpose, dreams and goals; achieve health and wellness for their spirit, mind and body; connect with their community and feel a sense of belonging and possibilities like nowhere else.   ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS • Support program, daily curriculum activities, in-service days / holidays in accordance with YMCA philosophy and state licensing requirements • Implement risk management to provide safety and well-being of all children • Integrate YMCA character development program into daily programming • Assist Site Supervisor with parental communications and staff with appropriate interactions with children, including discipline procedures • Proactively clean and/or repair program areas; maintain supplies and equipment • Be knowledgeable and supportive of the YMCA Annual Support Campaign, and general procedures and policies, including personnel guidelines, facility access procedures, membership policies, and emergency plans • Attend all training courses, staff meetings and in-services without exception • Follow dress code; require staff to adhere with staff shirts, name badge, closed-toes shoes • Provide accurate information about membership and programs • Be familiar with the mission statement and core values of the YMCA. Model the core values while working and communicating with other staff members   LEADERSHIP COMPETENCIES • Clear Communication • Customer Service • Inclusion • Safety • Active Listening ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL DEMANDS • While performing the duties of the job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, use hands to handle, feel objects, reach with hands and arms, climb, balance, and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk and hear • Be able to lift 40 pounds • Specific vision abilities are required including accurate sight up close, distant, peripheral and focus • Occasional exposure to wet conditions, and outdoor weather including UV sun rays • Noise level in the work environment is moderate to high QualificationsQUALIFICATIONS Minimum 16 years old Strong skills in human relations Upon hiring, complete 25-40 hours of license required childcare training Within 30 days of hire, complete YMCA onboarding requirements, required training and certifications including, Bloodborne, First Aid and HazMat    BENEFITS Free individual membership  Program discounts Generous Retirement Contribution Options -Includes company contribution of 10% once eligibility is met Employee Assistance Program Accrue 1 hour of paid sick leave for every 30 hours worked Paid Time off for those scheduled and working 20+ per week
