POSITION SUMMARY:
The Pilates Reformer Instructor working as part of the Health and Wellness Team, will deliver professional customer service and relationship building skills to create a welcoming environment at the YMCA while giving instruction of their specialty. The incumbent will also exhibit the core values of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility in all aspects of their work with the YMCA.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Serve as an instructor for Pilates Reformer Classes
Pilates Reformer Instructors are expected to be 10-15 minutes early for class and stay 10-15 minutes after to arrange equipment, clean up, do appropriate record keeping, read notices, and visit with participants
To participate in all staff meetings that may be called by the Health and Wellness Director/Supervisor
When unable to instruct a particular class, instructors will find a substitute for that class, and inform the supervisor in writing of the substitution
Follow and enforce all YMCA procedures and policies, including: personnel guidelines, safety guidelines, facility access procedures and membership policies. Carry out emergency plans as necessary.
Maintain a clean and safe YMCA. Take initiative to clean up/repair areas.
Be dressed in appropriate attire and wear nametag.
Attend and remain current on all mandatory trainings and staff meetings.
Be knowledgeable and supportive of the YMCA annual support campaign.
Ensure the safety and enjoyment of all members and guests in our facility.
WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand, walk, swim, use their hands to grip, handle and feel objects and reach with their arms and legs.
The employee will occasionally be required to lift up to 50 pounds.
While performing duties, the employee will be exposed to water, cool or very hot temperatures and may be exposed to direct UV sunrays. Specific vision abilities are required for this job.
The employee must be able to see close up and at a distance and have clear peripheral vision. The noise level is moderate to loud and requires acute hearing skills
While performing the duties of this job, this individual is occasionally exposed to wet conditions and outdoor weather conditions.
The typical noise level in the facility is moderate but may be high at times.
Identify leaders for recruitment of volunteer/staff
Any other duties as assigned.
