The Director is responsible for a broad base of character development, youth development, family stability and health and well-being programs. The Director plans, organizes and directs youth, teen and adult programs and instructional classes. The Director is responsible for recruiting and training of instructors and volunteers. The Director is also responsible for scheduling, programming, promoting, and monitoring all activities.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Uphold the mission of the YMCA and demonstrate behaviors that reflect a determined, nurturing, genuine, hopeful, and welcoming nature.
Serves as a role model and advocate of the YMCA Mission, Promise, Values and Voice.
Spearheads and manages efforts around space/event rental and facilitating such occurrences.
Coordinate the development, management, and promotion of programs to meet the needs of community and achieve branch/association operating objectives
Supervision of Kid’s Club, Youth Development, Community Engagement and Summer Day Camp.
Lead efforts to recruit, employ, train, schedule, evaluate, and retain program staff within the operational needs and budget, providing an environment for the development of highly competent and motivated program teams. Willingness to step into open shifts to maximize coverage as needed.
Meets or exceeds program goals in regards to enrollment, budget, measured impact, and addressing of the expressed needs of the community.
Carry out the branch vision of an extraordinary commitment to customer service and participant driven customer friendly practices and procedures.
Demonstrates a commitment to the charitable work of the YMCA and accepts a leadership role in the activities and events of the YMCA Annual Campaign.
Ensure all required certifications and YMCA of the USA training guidelines of self and staff are maintained.
SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITY:
Budget responsibility of approximately $200,000.
Leadership of after school and teen programming, summer day camp, and special events.
Recruit, supervise and train kids club attendants, group leaders and camp directors
Train, recruit, and manage program volunteers.
Shared accountability for Annual Campaign.
Manager on Duty shifts scheduled weekly
Develop and maintain positive relationships with community members, partners, and funders by means of outreach and engagement activities.

Positive working relationships with school systems and administrators, staff teams, members, and community.
High quality and consistency in youth programing including but not limited to: innovative curriculum, academic programming, health and wellness components and measurable results in strengthening youth, young adults, and families in spirit, mind, and body.
QualificationsKNOW HOW/REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor’s Degree or Master’s Degree in education, human services, social services, business, or equivalent
Previous budget experience of at least 150k
3 years of supervisory experience
3 years of experience working with youth
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Technologically proficient, with the ability to use technology to advance the mission
Knowledge and understanding of childcare licensing
