In this critical role, you will be instrumental in shaping the future of maritime emissions reduction by overseeing projects from initial concept design through to construction, commissioning, and delivery. This hands-on position requires a highly skilled professional with in-depth technical knowledge in naval architecture, marine, electrical or energy engineering, combined with comprehensive project management expertise.

As Senior Project Engineer, you will lead multi-disciplinary teams, leveraging your leadership capabilities to foster collaboration, innovation, and a high-performance culture. Your work will directly influence the delivery of green technologies that contribute to a more sustainable planet.

Key Responsibilities

1. Product Development: Drive the growth and enhancement of MarinEV’s product portfolio. Engage proactively with customers to understand their operational challenges and tailor our electric vessel and charging solutions to meet these needs.
2. Technical Excellence: Evaluate and integrate state-of-the-art technologies to optimise vessel energy efficiency — including hull design innovations, hydrofoil applications, air lubrication systems, and utilisation of lightweight materials. Balance capital expenditure considerations with operational cost reductions.
3. Project Management: Oversee end-to-end project delivery for multiple products, ensuring adherence to scope, schedule, and budget. Manage all phases including concept design, detailed engineering, procurement, construction, integration, commissioning, and technical validation.
4. Team Leadership: Provide guidance and mentorship to engineers and project staff, cultivating an inclusive environment that encourages continuous development, engagement, and high morale.
5. Business Development Support: Collaborate with MarinEV’s Business Development team to explore and access new markets, expanding the product offering aligned with emerging opportunities.
6. Supply Chain Management: Strengthen existing supplier partnerships and identify new collaborations for marine electrification technologies and services to establish resilient, long-term strategic alliances.
7. Quality Assurance: Ensure high product reliability through rigorous engineering standards, thorough technical and commercial evaluations during equipment selection, and stringent QA/QC during shipyard activities. Implement continual improvement initiatives based on operational feedback.
8. Change Management: Develop robust change control mechanisms to safeguard project scope, timelines, and financial plans, effectively managing risks associated with project modifications.
9. Regulatory Compliance: Guarantee that all products meet relevant classification society standards and comply with applicable maritime regulations across intended operational jurisdictions.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Engineering, preferably naval architecture, electrical, marine or energy engineering.
• Minimum 8 years of relevant experience in marine engineering and project management, demonstrating success in delivering multiple projects in a fast-paced maritime environment.
• Solid understanding of marine industry best practices and thorough knowledge of classification society and regulatory frameworks.
• Advanced technical qualifications or certifications are advantageous.
