Yee Hong is one of the foremost providers of culturally appropriate senior care in the country, delivering high-quality resident experience and care to Chinese and other Asian seniors since 1994. The organization operates 805 long-term care beds and 308 seniors’ apartment units, with an additional 224 long-term care beds opening in a new home by June 2026. In addition, Yee Hong offers four campuses of managed care, a hospice residence, and a wide range of community-based senior and caregiver support services. Through this comprehensive network, the organization serves more than 15,000 individuals annually across the Greater Toronto Area.
The Community Kitchen initiative provides meals to clients to the clients within the Community and Professional Services division and to the greater community consumers.
In consultation with the Director of Community Support Services, the Community Kitchen Supervisor plans, develops and over sees the food production and operation of the Community Kitchen in accordance with the organization’s client centred approach, policies and procedures as well as established standards and regulations. In addition, the incumbent will be working with the Community Support Services team leads in promoting and developing the Community Kitchen business initiative.
Qualifications:
Graduate of a recognized 2-year diploma program in food services supervision or management, or equivalent. Membership in the Canadian Society of Nutrition Management preferred.
Current Food Handler Safety Certificate
Minimum 1 year experience in quantity food production industry. Supervisory experience in food production preferred.
Knowledge of food safety and public health practices
Exceptional time management, problem solving and organizational skills
Strong communication and leadership skills
Satisfactory police check with vulnerable sector screen result
Good oral and written communication skills in English and Chinese
Physical Demands/Working Condition:
Exposed to heat, humidity, food waste
May be required to work flexible hours and on weekends
