"1. Core SAP PP Functional Skills
Production Planning and Scheduling: Expertise in using S/4HANA tools to create feasible production plans and detailed schedules that optimize resource utilization and capacity constraints.
Demand Management & MRP: Ability to manage demand forecasting and utilize Material Requirements Planning (MRP) functionalities to calculate raw material needs, avoiding stock-outs or overstocking, which is crucial for the continuous process in steel manufacturing.
Master Data Management: Skill in maintaining relevant PP master data (e.g., routings, Bill of Materials, work centers) specific to steel coil production processes (like slitting and coiling) to ensure accurate planning and execution.
Production/Process Order Execution: Proficiency in managing both production orders and process orders, tracking their status in real-time, and ensuring alignment between planning and execution.
Capacity Planning: Using the system's capacity planning tools to balance production workloads, identify and resolve bottlenecks in machinery (e.g., rolling mills, slitting lines), and allocate resources effectively.
Industry-Specific and General Skills
Understanding of Steel Manufacturing Processes: Knowledge of specific steel coil manufacturing processes (e.g., hot rolling, cold rolling, annealing, slitting, coiling) and how they translate into SAP S/4HANA workflows and configurations is highly valued.
2. S/4HANA Public Cloud–Specific Skills
Fit-to-Standard Workshops: Running PP workshops with production planners, mapping current processes to SAP standard.
Configuration via SSCUIs: Instead of SPRO customizing, using cloud configuration UIs.
Fiori Apps: Hands-on with apps like:
Monitor Material Coverage
Manage Production Orders
Monitor Work Center Schedules
Production Scheduling Board.
Best Practices Scope Items: Knowledge of SAP preconfigured PP processes (e.g., BJ5 – Make-to-Stock, BJH – Repetitive Manufacturing).
Extensibility: In-app changes (custom fields, forms, workflows) and side-by-side apps (if MES integration required).
3. Integration Skills
PP–MM Integration
Material staging.
Reservation & consumption.
Procurement of raw materials (incl. subcontracting).
PP–SD Integration
MTO: Sales order triggers production.
ATP check integration.
PP–FICO/CO Integration
Order settlement to cost centers/CO-PA.
WIP & variance calculation.
Material ledger/actual costing in Cloud.
PP–QM Integration
In-process and final inspections.
Quality results recording.
External Systems
Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES).
IoT / Shop floor automation (through BTP & Integration Suite).
4. Data Migration & Reporting
Data Migration Cockpit: Migration of BOMs, routings, work centers, production versions.
Reporting:
Fiori PP reports (Order Progress, Capacity Utilization).
Embedded Analytics (MRP Cockpit, Production KPIs).
SAC dashboards for production efficiency, OEE.
5. Soft Skills
Business Process Knowledge: Deep understanding of manufacturing operations, production scheduling, and shop floor management.
Stakeholder Collaboration: Working with production managers, planners, shop floor supervisors, finance, and logistics.
Change Management: Helping plants move from legacy/MES-heavy processes to SAP Best Practices.
Analytical Mindset: Connecting KPIs (yield, cycle time, OEE, capacity utilization) with SAP reporting & analytics"
Candidate should be comfortable to work on international time zones and odd working hours
Should work independently and help other team members as needed
Work with teams to develop testing scope, identify and manage risks within project management processes and standards
Participate in daily team meetings to update and track the status and progress of tasks.
Work closely with other module consultants and work closely on the Integration challenges
Knowledge on timesheet and cost booking using timesheet is added advantage
Maintain a thorough knowledge of the organization and adheres to all organizational standards and maintaining a high degree of customer satisfaction
SAP S/4HANA PP Certification . Graduate Engineer from a reputed college/ institution.Exposure IS-Mill solution will be advantage
