Functions In A Lead Tech Capacity To Ensure Smooth Operation Of Both The Cardiac Cath Lab And Angiography Suites. Must Be Able To Function In Both Areas, And Facilitate Training, And Provide Technical Guidance In Both Areas.

Responsibilities

  • 1. 1. Is Responsible For Providing Training And Orientation To Staff To Ensure Competency.
  • 2. 3. Provides Feedback To Manager On Performance Of Employees In These Sections
  • 3. 4. Helps Direct Flow Of Work And Technologists In The Area, To Ensure Fair And Adequate Staffing Between The Cath Lab And Special Procedures. Notifies Manager Of Low Need Days In The Area.
  • 4. 6. Helps With Coding And Billing Review And Questions.
  • 5. 7. Works In Collaboration With The Cath Lab Manager To Ensure Smooth Operations.
  • 6. 8. Surgical Scrub And Assist Interventional Radiologist, Cardiologist Or Surgeon During Various Invasive And Minimally Invasive Procedures.
  • 7. 9. Handles And Prepares Various Catheters, Guide Wires And Other Medical Devices Such As Ports, Dialysis Catheters, Filters, Angioplasty Balloons, Vascular Stents, Pacemakers And Wires.
  • 8. 10. Operates Interventional (Cath And Angio) Equipment, Filming, Charging And Compiling Exams.
  • 9. 11. Rotates On Call For Emergencies With Other Technologists In Section.
  • 10. 12. Back-up to Inventory Specialist. Maintains Inventory Of Supplies And Reorders And Rotates Stock As Necessary To Prevent Out Dating Of Catheters In The Specials Lab.And Acts As A Resource For Cath. Lab. Supplies.
  • 11. 13. Maintains Statistics On Exams Performed And Their Potential Complications.
  • 12. 14. Is Responsible For Overseeing The Maintenance Of Angiographic Equipment, And A Resource To The Cath. Lab.
  • 13. 15. Back-up to Inventory Specialist. Order Supplies And Maintains Inventory To Ensure No Out Dating, An Appropriate Amount Of Inventory And With In Budgetary Guidelines. Works With Manager To Recommend Ways To Lower Non-Salary Expenses.
  • 14. 16. Assumes Daily Responsibility For Special Procedures And Cath Lab Technical Functions As Required. Is Cross Trained To Hemodynamics As A Back Up To Nursing.
  • 15. 17. Meets Performance Expectations For Customer Service, Teamwork, Resource Utilization, And Staff And Self Development As Outlined In Performance Review.
  • 16. 18. Performs Other Duties As Assigned Or Directed To Ensure Smooth Operation Of The Department/Unit.

Bs Degree Preferred

 

EXPERIENCE

 

3-5 Years Interventional/Cath Lab Experience Required

 

LICENSURE

 

Ct State License

 

SPECIAL SKILLS

 

Must Be A.R.R.T Registered (R); A.R.R.T. (Cv) Or (Ci) Certification. Bls and Acls Certification Required.
