Journeyman Lineman - Minot, ND

We anticipate the need for one or more Journeyman Lineman to join our Xcel Energy Team located at the Minot Service Center in Minot, ND. Minot Service Center 300 - 16th St SW Minot ND 58701. The base rate of pay for Journeyman Lineman is $60.31(2025 rate) per hour according to the “Exhibit A” wage scale.

This position will be posted for 10 Working Days from January 15, 2026, to January 28, 2026

Summary 

Perform all duties of the Lineman Classification. Including work on overhead and underground electric distribution and transmission systems. Individual filling this position should have a high-level commitment to safety, provide quality customer service, be self-motivated and possess a positive attitude.

Required 

Qualified applicants will have a High School Diploma or GED and meet the following criteria:

1. Must presently hold a Journeyman Lineman Certificate.  

2. Must possess a state issued Journeyman certificate and pass a company skills assessment for a Journeyman position.

3. Must meet driver qualification requirements, including the possession of a valid Commercial Class A Driver’s License.

4. Must be physically capable of performing all aspects of electric overhead and underground distribution, construction, operations, and maintenance work.

5. Must have good communication and teamwork skills.

6. Must presently be qualified to be a 5th Step Apprentice Lineman or higher.

7. Must be self-motivated and possess a positive attitude.

8. Demonstrated commitment to work safely and productively.

  

Special Requirements: 

1. Requires participation in after-hours emergency call-outs. 

2. Must live within 20 miles of the service center. 

3. This position is subject to D.O.T. random drug and alcohol testing program.

The anticipated starting base pay for this position is: $60.31 per hour
