Job Summary:

 

The Trackman is a physically demanding position responsible for ensuring the track, bridgework, and railroad right-of-way are in good repair to provide safe and efficient railroad operations for passengers and employees.

 

The Details:
Position Type: Full-Time, Year-Round
Pay: $21.20 an Hour
Schedule: Typical schedule is 40 hours, 5 days/per week (may include weekends, evenings, and holidays)

Responsibilities

 

  • Fully understand and support Xanterra's Mission Statement Core Values and Cultural Pillars.
  • Responsible for ensuring the railroad and right-of-way are in good repair and provide for safe and efficient railroad operations.
  • Responsible for replacing railroad ties and rails as directed.
  • Assists in repair of bridges and culverts where needed and as directed.
  • Responsible for cleaning right-of-way as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

 

  • Minimum of one year’s work experience in a labor or construction position.
  • Valid Arizona Driver’s License.
  • At least 19 years of age.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Valid Arizona (Commercial Driver’s License) CDL.
  • Previous railroad experience.
  • First Aid/CPR certification.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish skills.

Physical Requirements:

  • Heavy work, lifting and pulling up to 70 pounds occasionally and up to 100 pounds on a rare basis.
  • Stop/bend/kneel/crouch/balance/climb on an occasional basis.
  • Walking long distances over uneven terrain
  • Must meet auditory and visual acuity/tracking/inspection thresholds.
  • Exposure to equipment that intensifies the heat factor on an occasional basis.
