We’re hiring a Senior Assistant Restaurant Manager to support our operations with the South rim of the Grand Canyon!

 

Job Summary:
Manage all restaurant operations to include staff supervision, guest service, training and administrative duties. Provide oversight of dining room, kitchen, bar, auxiliary service areas, day tours and special functions.

 

The Details: 
Position Type: Full-Time, Year-Round
Schedule: May include weekends, evenings, and holidays

Housing: Eligible for a Private 1-Bedroom Apartment for $352 per month and $352 housing deposit.

Responsibilities

  • Proactively manages the FOH, continue improvement of systems, training and guest services by collaborating with upper management to make needed changes.
  • Participates in the training of all new and promoted front-of-house employees and maintaining service standards set for that unit during all shifts.
  • Responsible for front of the house service flow among all assigned unit operations. The floor management system “Tock” will be used for all dining periods. Will be present at Host podium during peak periods.
  • Assists with managing all areas of FOH including Lounge, Alcohol regulations, Patio, Host station, back areas including bussing station in dish area and dinning room Legendary Hospitality services.
  • Assists in scheduling front of the house employees while maintaining labor costs within plan.
  • Maintain an effective floor management program with all day tours, special events, and special guest requests according to instructions from Sales Department and Restaurant Manager.
  • Interacts with guest concerns, requests and suggestions, table touches with every refired entree.
  • Performs administrative and payroll duties and maintain effective communication thru daily journal and E-mail.
  • Participates with monthly inventory following accounting protocols.

Assists in Monthly China, Glass and Silverware inventories.

  • Daily Shift reports are sent out with appropriate information to assist with overall department communications.
  • Helps maintain attendance calendar, ensuring performance issues are also tracked , recorded and initiating WANs when issues reach this level in conjunction with Sr Management and HR.
  • Helps achieve and maintain highest possible scores on health inspections and NPS concession inspections , through consistent and prompt inspections and staff follow up to ensure labeling and Sanitation regulations are being followed by staff.
  • Checks side work completion prior to opening and before closing.
  • Administer corrective action as necessary consulting/communicating with Restaurant Manager or Food & Beverage Executive Management as necessary. Ensure that Human Resources management approves any discharges.
  • Ensure that assigned staff is adhering to risk management procedures, including wearing personal protective equipment, MSDS location and comprehension, ergonomics and slip and fall.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Two years supervisory experience in Food & Beverage front-of-house operations at a multi-unit outlet.
  • Ability to supervise others, especially front of the house and/or entry level employees.
  • Effective oral and written communications skills.
  • Experience with POS systems, Word and computerized spreadsheets helpful.
  • Basic budget knowledge.
  • Customer service experience in high volume food & beverage operations.
  • Cash Handling experience.

Physical Requirements:

Constantly: Stand, walk, reach outward, bend, lift/carry up to 20 lbs., and push/pull up to 25 lbs.

Frequently: Reach above shoulder, squat/kneel, lift/carry up to 50 lbs., and push/pull up to 40 lbs.

Occasionally: Sit, lift/carry up to 100 lbs., and push/pull up to 100 lbs.
