Grand Canyon National Park Lodges operates 6 hotels, 7 retail shops, and various restaurants and dining facilities in the historic Grand Canyon Village. We’re hiring a Retail Store Manager to Live. Work. Explore. at the south rim of the Grand Canyon!

 

Job Summary:

Oversee all retail operational, personnel, training and merchandising standards in line with company directions, budgets and goals.

 

The Details:
Position Type: Full-Time, Year-Round
Schedule: Typical schedule is 40 hours, 5 days per week (may include weekends, evenings, and holidays)

Housing: Eligible for a private one-bedroom apartment for $352.00 per month which cover the cost of rent and utilities

Responsibilities

  • Ensure consistent service standards are being executed at all times through adherence to the Xanterra Legendary Hospitality program.
  • Ensure that the unit/s operate within the budgeted/directed financial expense goals.
  • Maintain a positive and proactive team through exemplary leadership, consistent direction and leadership by example.
  • Maintain all visual and merchandising guidelines as directed by the corporate team, the Visual Merchandiser and the Director of Retail.
  • Monitor weekly payroll expenditures, schedules and sales results using the P&L and supporting reports and react to ensure compliance and adherence to all financial goals.
  • Enforce all safety and risk management policies.
  • Establish and ensure strong, open-door communications with all employees.
  • Responsible for Loss Control/Inventory shrinkage.
  • Daily monitoring of inventory levels and communicating/coordinating merchandise needs from the warehouse/distribution center.
  • Ensures all training, point of sales operations, customer interaction/s and suggestive selling is consistently executed at the highest level.
  • React accurately and promptly to all required and/or requested reports from corporate personnel.
  • Train and Develop new Associates upon arrival on Retail Standards and company initiatives.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of guest service management experience leading high-performing teams.
  • Retail management experience in high-volume locations is preferred.
  • Supervise and manage a large year-round and seasonal staff.
  • Experience in product display, product ordering, inventory control and loss control procedures.
  • Computerized POS system experience including training and troubleshooting.
  • Good verbal communication skills with ability to professionally and courteously interact with a broad cross-section of employees and guests.
  • Basic accounting skills with P&L analysis experience and extensive cash handling/deposit experience.

Physical Requirements include:

Constantly: Handle, bend, lift/carry up to 10lbs.

Frequently: Stand, reach, squat/kneel, push/pull up to 12lbs.

Occasionally: Walk, sit, climb, crawl, lift/carry up to 100lbs, push/pull up to 100lbs.
