From troubleshooting to preserving our rich history and being stewards of our iconic lodges, hands-on skills are needed to get the job done right. There are a variety of positions at our parks and lodges that range from skilled technicians to skilled trades.

 

Job Summary:

The Maintenance Lead plays a critical role in overseeing and performing maintenance activities across Xanterra facilities and assets. This position combines hands-on technical work with leadership responsibilities, ensuring timely and safe completion of maintenance tasks while guiding seasonal staff. The Maintenance Lead supports sustainability initiatives, adheres to safety standards, and contributes to the overall reliability and functionality of park operations.

 

The Details:
Position Type: Full-Time, Year-Round
Pay: $25.75/hour
Schedule: Typical schedule is 40 hours, 5 days/per week (may include weekends, evenings, and holidays)

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot and perform technical repairs, maintenance, and seasonal opening/closing of facilities and equipment.
  • Lead, track, and report preventive and corrective maintenance using the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
  • Direct and mentor seasonal maintenance staff, ensuring quality and timely task completion.
  • Safely utilize appropriate tools and materials for work order completion.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and cooperative work environment.
  • Communicate effectively with professionalism and courtesy.
  • Work independently with minimal supervision; flexibility to work overtime or nights as needed.
  • Comply with all safety programs and sustainability initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Advanced mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
  • Proven leadership ability to supervise, train, and mentor staff.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with adaptability and persistence.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and CMMS systems.
  • Knowledge of OSHA and NFPA safety regulations.
  • Ability to quickly learn new skills and adapt to changing procedures.
  • Willingness to work holidays, weekends, and flexible shifts.

Physical Requirements include:

  • Ability to work in confined spaces and at elevations above 6,000 ft.
  • Walk up to 0.5 miles over uneven terrain; climb stairs and ladders.
  • Lift and carry up to 50 lbs; perform heavy labor outdoors in varying weather.
  • Must be at least 21 years old with a valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
