We’re hiring Food & Beverage Managers to Live. Work. Explore. this summer!

 

Job Summary:

Oversees the overall restaurant operations at one of Glacier National Park’s historic lodges, ensuring guests experience Xanterra’s “Legendary Hospitality” in every aspect of their visit. This position provides leadership and coordination between the front and back of house, working closely with the Location Chef and management team to maintain high standards of food quality, service, and efficiency. The F&B Manager focuses on delivering exceptional guest experiences, supporting staff development, and upholding the character and tradition of the lodge through thoughtful, consistent hospitality.

 

The Details:
Position Type: Seasonal
Season Dates: early-May through September or October 2026 (exact dates vary by location)
Pay: $2,108.00 bi-weekly
Schedule: Typical schedule is 45-50 hours, 5 days per week (may include weekends, evenings, and holidays)

Responsibilities

Guest Experience & Service

  • Deliver and uphold Xanterra’s “Legendary Hospitality” by ensuring every guest enjoys a warm, professional and memorable dining experience
  • Maintain a visible presence on the dining room floor, engaging with guests and supporting staff during service
  • Monitor overall service quality, pacing and guest satisfaction, addressing concerns promptly and professionally.
  • Collaborate with the Location Chef to ensure seamless coordination between front and back of house operations

Operational Oversight

  • Oversee daily food and beverage operations, ensuring consistent quality, presentation and service standards
  • Support menu planning, pricing and special event coordination in partnership with culinary leadership
  • Monitor labor costs, sales performance and expense control to achieve financial goals
  • Ensure compliance with all food safety, sanitation and responsible alcohol service regulations
  • Maintain cleanliness, organization, and readiness across all restaurant areas including dining room, bar and service stations

Leadership & Team Development

  • Lead by example, setting high standards for professionalism, teamwork and guest engagement
  • Recruit, train and coach staff to uphold service excellence and operational efficiency
  • Foster a positive, respectful and inclusive work environment focused on collaboration and growth
  • Conduct regular staff meetings and performance check-ins to reinforce company values and service goals
  • Provide clear direction during shifts and assist management team with scheduling and staffing needs

Administration & Communication

  • Support reporting and recordkeeping requirements, including daily logs, inventories and purchasing requests
  • Collaborate with the Location Chef and F&B Director to develop and execute operational improvements
  • Communicate effectively between departments to ensure alignment of goals and smooth coordination
  • Assist in planning and execution of special events, group functions and seasonal offerings

  • Represent Xanterra’s brand values through professionalism, integrity and genuine hospitality
  • Maintain a polished appearance and calm, positive demeanor even in high-volume situations
  • Adapt to changing business needs while maintaining focus on service quality and guest satisfaction
  • Uphold all company policies, procedures and safety standards

Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Leadership: Proven ability to lead diverse teams with professionalism, integrity and respect while fostering collaboration between front and back of house
  • Guest Service: Genuine passion for hospitality and delivering exceptional service in alignment with Xanterra’s “Legendary Hospitality.”
  • Operational Knowledge: Strong understanding of restaurant operations including scheduling, budgeting, cost control and inventory management
  • Culinary Collaboration: Ability to work effectively with the Location Chef and kitchen team to ensure seamless coordination and consistent quality
  • Communication: Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to resolve guest or staff concerns tactfully and professionally
  • Regulatory Compliance: Working knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and responsible alcohol service requirements. Montana TIPs certification is required (training provided)
  • Analytical Skills: Ability to interpret financial reports, labor data and sales metrics to guide operational decisions
  • Organization & Time Management: Skilled at balancing multiple priorities in a fast-paced, high-volume environment while maintaining attention to detail
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency with POS and office systems including scheduling and inventory software
  • Professionalism: Maintains a polished appearance, positive attitude and commitment to service excellence consistent with Xanterra’s values

Experience:

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of progressively responsible experience in food and beverage management, preferably in a casual fine dining or upscale resort environment.

Supervisory Responsibility:

  • Oversee all F&B employees in the outlet

Physical Requirements include:

  • Must be able to walk and stand for extended periods of time.
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 40 pounds. Frequent lifting and carrying of supplies, materials, and equipment throughout the day.
  • Must be able to bend, stretch, and reach for extended periods of time.
  • Working safely with required chemicals.
  • Must be able to perform various administrative tasks on a computer for extended periods of time.
