We’re hiring a Community Recreation Center Attendant to Live. Work. Explore. at the South Rim of the Grand Canyon!

 

Job Summary:
Operate Front Desk and POS register. Responsible for the overall cleanliness and look of the Recreation Center.

 

The Details:
Position Type: Full-Time, Year-Round
Pay: $15.85 per hour
Schedule: Typical schedule is 40 hours, 5 days/per week (may include weekends, evenings, and holidays)

Responsibilities

  • Operate Front Desk and POS register according to Recreation Center procedures and policy.
  • Assist with events and activities lead by Attendants.
  • Responsible for the day-to-day cleanliness of the Recreation Center by performing custodial duties including, but not limited to lifting, sweeping, disposing of waste, and vacuuming.
  • Assist with programming events and activities directed by Rec Center Mgr/Asst Mgr.
  • Open and close the Recreation Center as scheduled according to procedure.
  • Always presents a professional appearance and attitude and maintains a high standard of customer service.
  • Maintain inventory and record use of equipment and supplies.
  • Assist in enforcing Recreation Center policies to the patrons.
  • Adhere to all safety and risk management policies, including wearing required personal protective equipment while performing tasks.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of weight and fitness equipment use, and repair preferred.
  • Ability to acquire CPR/First Aid certification within 6 months of hire.
  • Ability to acquire Food handling certification within 30 days of hire.
  • Experience with cash handling and the ability to acquire Cash Handling certification within 30 days of hire.
  • Ability to obtain a valid Arizona Driver’s License within 30 days of hire and comply with the company Driver Safety Program.
  • Excellent organizational skills with ability to multi-task.
  • Strong computer skills in Microsoft programs such as Outlook, Excel, Word, as well as social media platforms.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Knowledge and experience with Word and email programs.
  • Ability to work various schedules including holidays, weekends, day and evening shifts.

Physical Requirements include:

Constantly: Stand, walk handle, lift/carry up to 10lbs, push/pull up to 12lbs.

Frequently: Reach, squat/kneel, bend, lift/carry up to 20lbs, push/pull up to 25lbs.

Occasionally: Sit, climb, lift/carry up to 100lbs, push/pull up to 100lbs.
