Benugo at the Ashmolean Museum are looking for a Restaurant Manager to lead the team at a truly stunning restaurant. The Ashmolean Rooftop Restaurant is situated on the roof of one of the oldest museums in the world, the Ashmolean Museum.

Job Description

We are looking for a dynamic and experienced Deputy or Restaurant Manager to lead our team and maintain the highest standards of hospitality.

Salary: Approx OTE £44,000 (£36,000 + approx. £8,000 service charge) 

Working 5 out of 7 days. Including most weekends.

The restaurant is NOT open in the evenings!! This means you will be working the majority of shifts during the day. There could be several shifts a week in the evening when we have large events on, during the height of event season.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee daily restaurant operations, ensuring exceptional service in a high-volume environment.
  • Lead, train, and motivate a team to deliver a world-class guest experience.
  • Maintain and improve service standards while driving efficiency and profitability.
  • Work closely with the kitchen team to ensure seamless coordination between FOH and BOH.
  • Manage staffing levels, rotas, and recruitment to ensure smooth service.
  • Handle guest feedback professionally, maintaining a strong brand reputation.
  • Monitor financial performance, including sales targets, cost control, and P&L analysis.
  • Ensure full compliance with health, safety, and licensing regulations.
  • Drive marketing initiatives and partnerships to enhance visibility and footfall.
  • Represent both Benugo and the Ashmolean with pride and positivity.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a Restaurant Manager in a high-volume venue.
  • Strong leadership skills with a passion for hospitality and guest experience.
  • Excellent financial acumen with experience managing budgets and KPIs.
  • Ability to work under pressure while maintaining a positive and energetic atmosphere.
  • A hands-on, lead-by-example management style.
  • Knowledge of London’s hospitality scene and tourist market is a plus.
  • Weekly Hours: 39
  • Employment Type: Perm.
  • Rate: £38,000 - £40,000
  • Salaried Working Pattern: Full-time 5 Days Out of 7
