WSG Energy Services is seeking an Electrical Commissioning Technician to support field-level pre-commissioning and commissioning activities for an urgent 40MW temporary power project in Texas, with anticipated transition into a larger 200MW power generation project.
The Electrical Commissioning Technician is responsible for the safe execution of electrical pre-commissioning and commissioning activities in the field. This role supports energization, system verification, and start-up of temporary and permanent power systems and reports to the Electrical Commissioning Lead or Supervisor.
Participate in all site safety programs, meetings, and hazard assessments
Ensure permits, FLHAs, and lockout/tagout (LOTO) requirements are followed
Support energization of E-houses and electrical systems
Perform motor runs, VFD programming support, interlock testing, and troubleshooting
Execute static and dynamic commissioning activities
Complete walkdowns, punch lists, and field verification
Complete commissioning check sheets and turnover documentation
Support PSSR activities and system readiness reviews
Assist vendors and commissioning leads during start-up
Support installation and operation of temporary power systems
Assist with winterization, EHT support, and equipment preservation
Electrical Journeyman ticket or equivalent
2+ years of experience in commissioning or completions environments
Experience with power generation or industrial electrical systems preferred
Strong safety awareness and teamwork skills
