Key Responsibilities:
The MEAL Assistant provides operational support to Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability, and Learning (MEAL) functions of the EMPOWER Project. The role supports routine monitoring, data collection, data entry, accountability system management, documentation, field-level evaluation activities, and partner coordination under the direct supervision of the MEAL Coordinator/Specialist
The position ensures that project data is accurate, timely, complete, and compliant with WVI & MEAL standards. The MEAL Assistant contributes to learning, reporting, and data quality processes and ensures ethical data handling, community participation, and safeguarding principles across MEAL operations.
Major Responsibilities
Collect quantitative and qualitative data for baseline, midline, endline, CDNA, and other assessments.
Conduct routine field monitoring visits using standardized MEAL tools and guidelines
Use KoBo/ODK and other digital tools for accurate and timely data entry.
Maintain systematic filing systems for datasets, MoVs, reports, attendance sheets, and photos.
Support data cleaning, validation, and organization.
Assist in DQA processes and partner verification tasks.
Update indicator sheets, databases, and iMPAQ as instructed.
Operate the FCRM system in compliance with WVI standards.
Support documentation of success stories, lessons learned, and reflection summaries.
Assist in preparing Learning Logs and learning products
Support external evaluators with field arrangements, interviews, and logistics.
Compile monitoring data and partner updates for monthly/quarterly reporting.
Prepare simple charts, graphs, and summaries from datasets.
Facilitate communication between MEAL focal points and WVL team.
Required qualifications, experience & competencies
Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, Development, Statistics, or related field.
1–2 years of experience in MEAL, research, or project monitoring.
Strong documentation and organizational skills.
Basic understanding of MEAL principles and accountability systems.
Competency in English and Tamil.
