The GEDSI and Protection Coordinator position is the goal owner responsible for tracking and ensuring performance on SIKAI+ project’s KPIs and commitments for Reaching the Most Vulnerable under World Vision’s and its 2021-2025 Country Strategy and beyond. The position supports and strengthens mainstreaming of Gender equality, Disability and social inclusion (GEDSI) in the implementation of SIKAI+ project of World Vision International Nepal. This position will be responsible
to lead, coordinate and monitor GEDSI integration and mainstreaming in SIKAI+ project and other Area Programmes (AP); and contribute to ensure GEDSI transformative approach in the project.
to coordinate, provide technical support and review and monitor for the effective implementation of “GEDSI action plan of the SIKAI+ Project” and in other APs;
to support in meeting adult and children safeguarding requirements;
to support on generating and documentation of evidence of GEDSI Responsive interventions and outcomes from the project and other APs;
to involve in capacity strengthening of project team of Partner NGO;
to support and lead on organizational GEDSI action plans execution in the field office; and
other project related activities as per assigned by Project Manager – SIKAI+ project and Field Operations Manager (GEDSI related).
Required Professional Experience/ Education
At least 5 years of field experience in Project Management, GEDSI programming or the equivalent in the headquarters of a major NGO (7 + years preferred) for a Bachelor’s Degree.
Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology, Gender, Women's Development, Rural Development or in a related field.
Preferred Knowledge and Qualifications
Previous work in developing GEDSI & Protection approaches
Strong research skills and relevant research experience of at least two years. Experience in leading action learning preferred.
Strong team player – must be able to form and lead a number of cross-functional working groups
Strong interpersonal skills – ability to draw commitment from other parts of the organization.
Good understanding of different approaches to GEDSI & Protection mainstreaming, and the requirements these involve.
Fluent in Nepali with good written and spoken English
Knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Word and Excel
Driving Licence holder of two-wheeler
Travel and/or Work Environment- 50% of the time
Work Base: Chandranigapur, Rautahat
Duration: 6 months (Maternity Cover)
