The position will provide strategic coordination support to the Deputy Country Director to ensure the effective and timely implementation of the Country Strategic Plan (CSP). Particular emphasis will be placed on advancing cross-cutting priorities, fostering integration across programmatic areas, and strengthening collaboration among internal and external stakeholders to achieve CSP objectives.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES (not all-inclusive, within delegated authority):

Under the overall guidance and direct supervision of the Deputy Country Director, the Programme Policy Officer (Coordination) will be responsible for the following duties:

1. Localize the WFP Country Strategic Plan (CSP) within Country Office (CO) and in collaboration with Government of Bangladesh, UN, NGO, and other partners, and support development of the Bangladesh CSP.

2. Identify and engage key stakeholders to facilitate full CSP implementation.

3. Identify strategic linkages and entry points between the WFP CSP and Government of Bangladesh’s priorities and develop roadmap for stakeholder engagement and act as liaison to facilitate related engagements.

4. Identify strategic opportunities for WFP positioning within the United Nations Sustainable Development Cooperation Framework (UNSCDF) coordinate participation in relevant groups and inputs to related reports acting as liaison to facilitate engagements.

5. Serve as CO focal person for Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) support to Government of Bangladesh, including on food systems.

6. Support the development of partnerships and joint events with member states, civil society and intergovernmental organizations to advocate for the SDGs and Zero Hunger on the global agenda, advancing WFP priorities and objectives. Serve as CO focal person for innovation.

7. Use data driven analysis to propose options to expand support from existing partners and to scope new partners, guided by programmatic assessment and context-specific analysis, with the aim to enhance the impact of WFP’s work and diversify the resource base.

8. Solicit inputs from other functional entities, Regional Offices and COs on WFP’s programmatic offering that can gain traction with individual partner audiences, conduct analysis and draft quality briefs to support of outreach opportunities. Support Programme Units with Partnership Engagement strategies and ensure quality control of related outputs.

9. Perform any other tasks as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
 
Education: Completion of Advanced University Degree (Master’s or equivalent) is required. Education in Political Science, International Development, Development Economics, International Relations, Law, Marketing, Communications or any relevant field is preferable. 
Experience: At least 8 years of overall experience, including 6 years of Postgraduate Professional Experience (managerial or supervisory) in areas related to Programme, Partnership, Related roles or other relevant fields.
Language: Fluency in spoken and written both in English and Bangla language.
