Job Summary (Generic)

The Anticipatory Action Coordinator will play a pivotal role in developing, implementing, and strengthening WFP's anticipatory action initiatives. This position involves leveraging data-driven insights to proactively address humanitarian crises, fostering strategic partnerships, and advocating for effective policies to mitigate the impact of disasters.

Job Responsibilities:(Generic)

Lead the design and implementation of anticipatory action frameworks and programs, ensuring alignment with WFP's strategic objectives and global best practices.
Utilize advanced
Data Analytics and Data Visualization techniques to identify early warning signals, assess risks, and inform the development of anticipatory action triggers and plans.
Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with government counterparts, humanitarian partners, and other key stakeholders through effective
Partner Relationship Management and Partnership Management.
Engage in Policy Advocacy and provide expert Policy Interpretation to influence national and regional policies related to disaster preparedness and anticipatory action.
Manage complex
Emergency Programs from inception to completion, ensuring efficient resource allocation and timely execution.
Demonstrate Innovation in identifying and implementing new approaches and technologies to enhance anticipatory action effectiveness.
Act as a
Customer-Oriented liaison, understanding the needs of vulnerable populations and designing interventions that effectively address their challenges.
Facilitate knowledge sharing and capacity building initiatives, demonstrating strong Learning Agility and fostering a culture of continuous improvement within WFP and among partners.
Collaborate effectively within multi-disciplinary teams, embodying strong
Teamwork principles to achieve shared goals.
Apply Strategic Thinking to anticipate future challenges and opportunities in the anticipatory action landscape.
Leverage
Technologically Savvy approaches to enhance program delivery, monitoring, and evaluation.
Represent WFP in various forums and cultivate strong Government Relations to advance anticipatory action agendas.

Job Qualifications:


Advanced university degree in a relevant field such as Social Sciences, International Development, Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management, or a related discipline.
Minimum of [X years] of progressively responsible experience in humanitarian program management, disaster risk reduction, or anticipatory action.
Proven expertise in Data Analytics and Data Visualization, with experience in using relevant software and tools.
Demonstrated experience in Program Management of complex projects, preferably in emergency or humanitarian contexts.
Strong understanding of Government Relations and experience in Policy Advocacy and Policy Interpretation.
Exceptional skills in Partner Relationship Management and Partnership Management, with a track record of building and maintaining effective collaborations.
Demonstrated ability to drive Innovation and adaptability in program design and implementation.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, with a strong Customer-Oriented approach.
Proven Strategic Thinking capabilities and the ability to operate effectively in dynamic and challenging environments.
Highly proficient and Technologically Savvy with relevant software and digital tools.
Ability to work effectively in a multicultural environment and demonstrate strong Teamwork ethic.
Commitment to continuous learning and professional development, demonstrating high Learning Agility.
* Fluency in English (oral and written) is required; knowledge of another official UN language is highly desirable.
