Priory seeks a full-time Residential Faculty. Residential Faculty play a key role in fostering a strong sense of community and belonging among boarding students. This position involves creating a supportive, home-like atmosphere in the dorms, helping students from all over the world to navigate daily life away from home. Residential Faculty build meaningful relationships with students, provide mentorship and guidance, and communicate regularly with families to support student well-being. In addition to overseeing dorm life and maintaining a positive and respectful environment, this role includes participating in school events, organizing weekend outings, and helping with transportation and logistics. Duties and Responsibilities

• Ensure the safety, well-being, and supervision of students in the boarding community by maintaining a secure, supportive, and structured residential environment.
• Reflect the purposes and objectives of the Priory to the boarding students. 
• Create a positive, safe community experience and a “homelike” atmosphere in the dorms in coordination with the Residential Life Team
• Work duty shifts (3:00pm-11:00pm weekdays, 10:30am-11:30 pm weekends) according to the rotation published by the Assistant Dean including at least four weekend shifts/month (32-40 hours/week).
• Uphold and implement all policies and procedures in the Resident Handbook.
• Maintain order in the dorms through a disciplinary system of incentives and consequences.
• Serve as Mentor for approximately 10 students and communicate bi-weekly with parents of international students. 
• Attend all Residential Life Team meetings, Faculty and Staff meetings and boarding Community Days/Weekends.
• Plan and chaperone Weekend Activities in conjunction with the Assistant Dean of Residential Life.
• Plan and facilitate daily House Meetings when on duty
• Participate in the Priory community by attending dinners in the dining hall, sports events, drama productions when on duty.
• Drive students in a 7 passenger or 9 passenger van to weekend activities, airport and other events as needed. 
• Assist with the setup of the dorms at the beginning of the year and with the closing of the dorm at the end of the year, through Graduation Day.

Qualifications

Education: Bachelor's degree required. 

Experience: Prior experience working with adolescents, preferably in an educational or camp setting.

Other requirements: Valid California Driver’s license required (or the ability to get one within two weeks of hire).
