About the role

As an accounting data expert you'll be part of the Product team, identifying and coordinating data driven projects together with a dedicated engineering team to improve and expand the data-based capabilities and features of our platform. You combine accounting and technical knowledge.

You will be focusing on the core of our platform: the enrichment of invoices (PDF & UBL) to bookings (GL accounts & VAT codes), through a combination of AI/ML-models and rule-based algorithms.

In order to improve our enrichment accuracy, you will talk to customers, analyze data, and suggest improvements. In collaboration with the development teams, you will ensure these improvements are implemented in an effective way. Post-implementation, you will measure, report and follow-up on results.

Your responsibilities

  • You will serve as the subject matter expert on accounting workflows for the team, ensuring that enrichment strategies and other features align with real-world accounting practices and compliance requirements.

  • Serve as data product owner to cover the end-to-end process to improve our enrichment results.

  • Perform data and error analysis to improve outcomes; clean and validate data for uniformity and accuracy; define and follow-up on KPIs of your scope

  • Work closely with development teams to define and improve data-driven solutions, build and improve algorithms, and communicate findings to internal and external stakeholders

  • Facilitate the implementation of improvements and new features in production by collaborating with software developers and machine-learning engineers

  • Analyze data for trends and patterns, and interpret data with clear business objectives in mind

  • Execute analytical experiments to help solve problems of our customers

  • Keep current with technical and industry developments and trends

Your skills

  • Familiarity with accountancy workflows & data: experience in the accountancy (software) sector is required, hands-on accounting experience is a plus.

  • Strong analytical skills with experience in data analysis,  experience in performance monitoring is a plus.

  • Understanding of machine learning concepts and rule-based logic (you don’t need to build models, but you should understand how they work).

  • You have a track record in translating data (insights) into actionable business and product strategies

  • You are an effective communicator to both technical teams and business stakeholders

  • Project Management: Ability to manage tasks, timelines and milestones for projects

  • Experience with Excel, PowerPoint, SQL. Experience with programming languages (ex: Java/Python) is a plus

  • You speak English, knowledge of Dutch and/or French is a plus

  • You have a master degree (or equivalent by experience) in accounting, business or related fields
