We are now looking for a Senior Legal Counsel, New Business Lines to join Wolt’s Global Legal team. Your primary responsibility areas will be supporting our Wolt Market and Wolt for Work businesses across all Wolt operating countries, while also providing legal support for new initiatives, such as autonomous delivery, as Wolt explores and scales new ways of operating. Wolt is part of DoorDash, one of the world’s leading local commerce platforms. You will be part of a joint global legal organization and collaborate with DoorDash legal colleagues to share learnings and identify opportunities to work together.

What you’ll be doing

• Acting as the lead legal partner for Wolt Market and Wolt for Work, supporting their day to day operations and long term development across multiple jurisdictions.


• Supporting additional new initiatives, such as autonomous delivery pilots or other future business models, as Wolt continues to evolve.


• Supporting vendor and other commercial contract negotiations and creating and improving contract templates.


• Advising on regulatory compliance and new legislative initiatives relevant for your responsibility areas.


• Identifying regulatory gaps, risks and development areas proactively, and translating legal requirements into clear, actionable guidance for business and product teams.


• Advising on competition law topics arising from Wolt’s hybrid model as both a platform for third party merchants and an operator of Wolt’s own grocery stores.


• Building scalable legal foundations by creating and maintaining documentation, playbooks and processes that bring clarity and structure to fast growing businesses.


• Using AI thoughtfully and responsibly in your daily work to improve legal workflows, efficiency and impact, while applying sound legal judgment and appropriate safeguards.

Our humble expectations 

• At least 7 years of professional legal experience, ideally combining strong in house experience with a law firm background.


• A Master’s degree in law from a reputable university within the EU.


• Strong experience in contract negotiations and providing commercial legal support in an international environment.


• A solid understanding of regulations relevant to e-commerce, digital platforms, grocery or retail operations, last mile delivery, consumer protection and EU competition law.


• The ability to operate independently from day one, balancing ad hoc requests with longer term foundational work.


• A business first, solutions oriented mindset, with the ability to provide pragmatic legal advice in a fast paced environment with imperfect information.


• High AI fluency, including curiosity toward AI tools, sound judgment on responsible use, and practical experience applying AI to improve legal work.


• Fluency in English, along with strong interpersonal and communication skills.

This is a senior individual contributor role where you are trusted to take ownership and independently drive legal matters within your areas of responsibility. We are looking for someone who is a strong legal expert in commercial and regulatory matters, and who is also curious, eager to learn and excited to help build something new. You will work closely with a wide range of stakeholders, including global and local New Verticals commercial and operations teams, the global Wolt for Work commercial team, Wolt’s Product team, and the Trust and Safety team. While the role does not currently include people management, it may grow to include leadership responsibilities as the business evolves. You will report to Wolt’s Director, Legal, New Business Lines. The role is ideally based at Wolt’s HQ in Helsinki, but also other locations in Wolt countries can be considered.
