About this role

Job title: Systems Monitoring Analyst

Wolfram, creator of Mathematica, Wolfram|Alpha and Wolfram Language, has an exciting opportunity for a Systems Monitoring Analyst to join its Global Technical Operations team. You will work in a fast-paced environment where you’ll never lack for new and challenging projects.

The ideal candidate will be able to work independently and in a team environment, seek challenges and take pride in their work and achievements. They will have moderate Linux skills, be strongly communicative within their own team and when contacting others, be attentive and responsive on a daily basis, and be comfortable with setting up and configuring virtual machines with guidance. This position is first shift, working 7:30am to 4pm Central Time, Monday through Friday.

A clear background check will be required for this role.
 
Responsibilities
•    Monitoring production-level machines and servers
•    Coordinating with departments within the Global Technical Operations department for issue resolution
•    Setting up and configuring virtual machine environments

Qualifications
•    Working Linux experience
•    Ability to work well both in a team environment and independently
•    Ability to solve problems using available resources
•    Comfort with referencing and modifying documentation for machine and incident handling
•    Comfort with some level of ambiguity and the ability to adapt

Preferred qualifications
•    Ability to learn and be reactive to adapting situations
•    Experience working with Python and Bash scripting
•    Creativity and a passion for being on the cutting edge of technology
•    Strong ability to communicate within teams and interpersonally

Location: Lima, Peru
Job type: Full time (40 hours per week)/Independent Contractor
Reporting to: Manager of Systems Command
