Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities Summary
Lead end-to-end business analysis and consulting engagements across pharma commercial analytics and data product initiatives
Act as the primary interface between business stakeholders and technical teams (data engineering, reporting, analytics)
Drive requirements discovery through stakeholder interviews, workshops, and working sessions across global and regional teams
Bring strong consulting mindset to challenge, refine, and shape business requirements into value-driven analytics use cases
Translate business questions into clear, structured, and actionable deliverables such as business requirement documents (BRDs), functional specifications, user stories, and acceptance criteria
Define analytics use cases, KPIs, metrics, and data product requirements in collaboration with business, governance, and technical teams
Support design of standardized, reusable, and scalable data products aligned to commercial analytics needs
Ensure alignment of business requirements with data models, ingestion strategies, reporting layers and downstream consumption
Partner with client stakeholders across Commercial, Medical, Market Access, and Corporate functions to understand priorities and roadmap requirements
Drive requirement traceability from discovery through build, UAT, and production rollout
Support UAT planning, execution, defect triage, and business sign-off
Own stakeholder communication, expectation management, and delivery alignment
Mentor and guide junior business analysts and contribute to analytics and data product best practices
Contribute to accelerators, templates, and standard approaches for pharma analytics delivery

Business & Functional Skills
Strong expertise in business analysis for pharma commercial analytics and data products
Deep understanding of analytics requirements across Sales, Marketing, Market Access, Omnichannel, and Executive reporting
Ability to structure ambiguous business problems into clear analytical and data-driven requirements
Strong experience in requirements gathering, stakeholder interviews, and facilitation workshops
Ability to convert business needs into technical, actionable, and delivery-ready specifications
Domain Expertise
Deep life sciences and pharmaceutical commercial analytics experience
Strong understanding of pharma data domains and sources such as IQVIA, Claims, CRM (Veeva), Digital, Hub/SP, and Internal Sales data
Experience working on use cases such as Brand Performance, Field Force Effectiveness, GTN, Omnichannel Analytics, Market Access, and Patient Journey
Ability to align data products and analytics outputs with business decision-making and strategic objectives
Technical & Delivery Awareness
Strong understanding of data platforms, analytics ecosystems, and reporting architectures
Working knowledge of cloud data platforms (Snowflake, dbt, cloud data warehouses preferred)
Ability to collaborate effectively with data engineering, reporting, and analytics teams
Familiarity with agile delivery models, backlog management, and sprint-based execution
Leadership & Behavioral Skills
Strong client-facing communication skills (verbal and written) with senior stakeholders
Proven experience leading and mentoring teams of business analysts
Strong consulting mindset with the ability to influence, challenge, and guide stakeholders
High attention to detail with a structured and quality-driven approach
Ability to operate in complex, multi-stakeholder, and fast-paced environments
Strong planning, prioritization, and execution discipline
Collaborative mindset with strong cross-functional working capability
Must-Have Skills
Pharma commercial analytics domain expertise
Strong requirements gathering and stakeholder management skills
Ability to translate business needs into technical and analytical deliverables
Experience working closely with data engineering and BI teams
Strong documentation and communication skills (BRDs, functional specs, user stories)
Experience leading business analysis teams
MS Excel and MS PowerPoint for executive communication
Good-to-Have Skills
Experience working on enterprise data products and analytics platforms
Exposure to self-service analytics and AI-enabled analytics use cases
Knowledge of specific therapeutic areas
Experience with Alteryx or similar data preparation tools
Exposure to data governance, KPI governance, and metadata management
Experience working on large-scale transformation or modernization programs

Qualifications

Masters/bachelor's degree in Computers, Marketing or a related field is typically required.
Proficiency in japanese language (good to have)
