INTERNSHIP SUMMARY

Ever wondered how food safety and quality standards are upheld for brands people trust every day? The WK Kellogg Summer Internship offers students hands-on experience supporting quality and food safety programs within a global manufacturing environment. This internship is designed to give you meaningful exposure to how quality systems work in real time while contributing to processes that help ensure safe, high-quality food. As an intern, you’ll collaborate with experienced Quality and Food Safety professionals, support key initiatives, and gain insight into how quality is built into every step of production.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

  • Support Quality and Food Safety activities across the facility to help ensure products meet required standards.
  • Assist with inspections, audits, sampling, and data collection related to food safety and quality systems.
  • Help maintain accurate documentation, records, and reports within established systems.
  • Participate in investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective action tracking related to quality or food safety issues.
  • Support employee training, food safety communications, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Collaborate with production, operations, and cross-functional teams to help reinforce a strong food safety and quality culture.


WHAT YOU’LL LEARN

  • How Quality and Food Safety programs operate within a manufacturing environment.
  • The fundamentals of food safety, quality systems, and regulatory compliance.
  • How audits, inspections, and data analysis are used to identify trends and drive improvement.
  • How to communicate quality and food safety expectations across teams.
  • What it means to help protect consumers by contributing to safe, consistent, and high-quality food production.


QUALIFICATIONS

This is a 4-month Summer 2026 student internship designed to provide hands-on experience within a Quality and Food Safety function.

At a Minimum:

  • Currently enrolled in post-secondary education for the Fall 2026 term.
  • High School Diploma, GED, or international equivalent required.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age at the time of hire, as of May 4, 2026.
  • Available to work full-time hours starting May 4, 2026 through September 5, 2026.


Preferred:

  • Pursuing a degree in Food Science, Food Safety, Microbiology, Biology, Chemistry, Quality Management, or a related field aligned with quality and food safety professions.


Salary Range: $22.00 per hour
